Ichumbi Vacations grew out of the Ichumbi hotel and gorilla safari lodge, whose guests asked the owners to organise their wider trips; the name comes from a Kifumbira word for a cool, comfortable home. Directors George and Susan run safaris in Uganda and Rwanda covering gorilla tracking, chimpanzees, birding and the national parks, including fly-in gorilla packages.
