Come face to face with endangered mountain gorillas in their misty volcanic home. This exclusive 5-day journey takes you deep into Rwanda's Volcanoes National Park for two gorilla trekking experiences, plus golden monkey tracking and a cultural immersion in the Land of a Thousand Hills. Itinerary
Day 1Arrival in Kigali
Arrive at Kigali International Airport. Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial to understand Rwanda's powerful history of resilience. Transfer to your hotel.
Day 2Kigali to Volcanoes National Park
Drive northwest to the Virunga volcano region. Afternoon golden monkey tracking in the bamboo forests -- a playful and photogenic experience.
Day 3First Gorilla Trek
Early morning briefing at park headquarters, then trek into the misty bamboo and hagenia forests to find a habituated gorilla family. Spend a magical hour observing silverbacks, mothers, and playful juveniles.
Day 4Second Gorilla Trek & Dian Fossey
Second gorilla trek to visit a different family group. Afternoon hike to the Dian Fossey Research Center to learn about ongoing conservation efforts.
Day 5Departure
Morning at leisure with optional community walk. Transfer back to Kigali for your departure flight.
