Itinerary
Day 1Arrival in Arusha
Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport. Transfer to your lodge with views of Mount Meru. Safari briefing and welcome dinner.
Day 2Arusha to Tarangire
Drive to Tarangire National Park, known for massive baobab trees and the largest elephant herds in northern Tanzania.
Day 3Tarangire to Lake Manyara
Morning game drive in Tarangire then transfer to Lake Manyara for its famous tree-climbing lions and flamingo-lined shores.
Day 4Ngorongoro Crater
Early morning descent into the Ngorongoro Crater, a 600m-deep caldera teeming with wildlife. One of the best places in Africa to see the Big Five in a single day.
Day 5Ngorongoro to Central Serengeti
Drive through the Ngorongoro Highlands and descend to the Serengeti plains. Stop at Olduvai Gorge, cradle of humankind.
Day 6Central Serengeti
Full day exploring the Seronera area, the Serengeti's game-rich heartland where predators patrol the kopje-studded plains.
Day 7Hot Air Balloon & Migration Tracking
Optional pre-dawn hot air balloon flight over the Serengeti. Then drive toward the migration herds based on the latest scouting reports.
Day 8Northern Serengeti
Transfer to the northern Serengeti near the Mara River. This is where the dramatic river crossings occur as herds brave crocodile-infested waters.
Day 9Mara River Crossings
Full day stationed at the Mara River crossing points. Watch as thousands of wildebeest gather courage to plunge into the waters.
Day 10Northern Serengeti Exploration
Continue exploring the northern Serengeti woodlands and plains. Search for resident predators and large herds.
Day 11Return to Central Serengeti
Drive back through the Serengeti with game viewing en route. Final evening sundowner on the plains.
Day 12Serengeti to Arusha & Departure
Bush flight back to Arusha. Connect to your international departure at Kilimanjaro Airport.
